I love your blog! Also, I saw that you are from Bloomington and you worked at what I imagine (hope) was the Red Sea restaurant. I loved that restaurant and was so sad when they closed. I went to IU for grad school and UNC for undergrad (where I was a non-professional) modern dancer. So many coincidences, so I just wanted to say hello.

Awesome, Banu. Our family ate at that place in both locations from the day they were open. My folks were soooo excited because they had lived in Addis for a year or two in the arly sixties.

On moving to Seattle, I was deligthed to discover that the area is one of the big destinations in the US for people from the Horn, Eritrean, Ethiopian, and Somali, and as a consequence we have tons of great restaurants featuring this delicious food.
